The shot that closed down the bridge and almost got me arrested.
The build up for this shot was the Pasadena Police closed down the entire bridge because they got calls that someone was trying to commit suicide from the bridge. 5 squad cars later, a closed bridge, a build up of traffic and some explaining resulted in a cop pressing the button on the camera for me.
It was Saturday morning. Fiona and I had just heard on the radio that Adam Yauch (MCA) of The Beastie Boys had passed away in the States. We set out for our day. I wore my Adidas jacket and Fiona donned her old school high tops as we set off on a road trip, playing an anthology of Beasties throughout the day - saluting one of Hip Hop’s brightest pioneers. The day was filled with a medley of memories brought on by the songs of our past. We stopped off at McCarrs Creek to snap some frames and end the day with some great coffee. It was a nostalgic day contemplating the recollections of an era. Enjoy the snaps.
Weekends are great. They are greater when you share them with someone who compliments your desire to view the world differently.
My wife and I had the pleasure of being guests at Anissa and Alper’s wedding over the weekend. Such a fun and vibrant wedding! We tagged along our camera to take some low light snaps on the dance floor, and wanted to give you a little sneak at the gorgeous dress the bride rocked for the reception. Truly beautiful. More to come soon.

A good friend of mine once said at his wedding, “anyone who knows me, knows what a long journey it’s been getting here.” As I waited with our photographer to see Fiona for the first time during our “first glimpse”, I thought of my life - of the journey that brought me this far and of the ones ahead. There is a reason why I chose to take this step and make this commitment so late in my life. There have been very few times in my life where I could point to an incident and know in my heart that it was God given. This was certainly no exception. I felt blessed for waiting as long as I did because in doing so, I found someone who understood my journey, who loves me fiercely and contributes to my life an infallible style of humor - the arrival of such a gift, at one point, felt so tardy in its promise. At the end of our wedding night, in the remote hills of Malibu Canyon, as we hugged our last guests goodbye, I held Fiona’s hand as we followed the fairy lights that lit our way back to the parking lot. In the silence of our walk, I remembered those words from my friend echoing through my head and I thought to myself, “One night down. Forever to go.”
I love you, Fi.
Enjoy the slideshow everyone.
Last Saturday, Fiona and I went around town in search of hidden treasures and came across this little goldmine, an abandoned medical facility. Shot with natural light as the sun was racing to set. Very minimal post work aside from some color enhancements and a minor vignette effect. The rest is God given.
